Most firms I know of will give attorneys leeway with WFH but require support staff to be mostly fully RTO.
I've been a paralegal for over 20 years and fully remote since 2021, I just need a position that's a better fit. It's a job that can effectively be done remotely, and I bill more being alone.
There are definitely smaller firms that are fully remote. You typically won’t find them through job postings. I found two fully remote jobs through random recruiters who reached out to me - one for a small east coast firm (think 3-6 attorneys) and one for a mid size west coast firm (think 50+ attorneys).
So, is your firm hiring? 😆
There are some great support staff. There are also some terribly lazy incompetent ones. The latter are the reason employers aren’t keen on offering full remote.
Not until they’ve hired you and waded through the thousands of applications.
