Starting a new job at Applied Materials on Monday as a Manufacturing Engineer III. I’ve been out of college for 5 years and all of my work experience till now has been in R&D for start ups and small businesses . So not only is this a new experience for me going into such a large company but also a industry (semiconductors). Does anybody has tips or advices on what I should expect as a new hire and how I can set myself up for success? Thanks!

It is very frustrating for sure, but unfortunately we can't stop it, we can only keep looking for a house that meets our clients' expectations.
It's tough for sure, but that's just how it is sometimes we all have to move on and keep looking
It's especially frustrating when you consider how many people that are actually qualified and deserving of those homes have a perfect budget for that house if market prices were to remain the same as they were a few years ago. Hopefully, the market will start to rebound soon and more people will be able to get the houses they want.
Just yesterday I had to break the news to a young client that the price of the property he had been saving for for quite some time increased exponentially. I have never seen anyone so disappointed and frustrated in my life.
Without a doubt... there are so many clients who are trying to buy their first home and just can't afford anything nowadays. It's a very difficult scenario to find yourself in when you just want to help them but have to be the bearer of bad news.
YES, every week at least one client seems to go through this. It can be quite disheartening. I keep telling them we will find the right opportunity though, it just takes longer than most people think it will.
This scenario is all too common nowadays. It is a hard time to work as a real estate agent, and it doesn't seem like it will be getting easier any time soon.
It didn't hit me until my sister started looking for property and even though she has saved for over a decade, she is no where close to affording something decent. With rent going up, she is barely able to add to her savings now. The separation between the rich and the rest is growing, and it's frightening.
