AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

I an not as bothered about this. Before Covid, it was common for people with proven performance and the ability to work independently to be given perks like being allowed to work from home or hybrid. I view that as just a version of that, "we will trust you to WFH because you have proven you can do it."
What concerns me more is companies who allow Leadership to WFT while demanding RTO for the rest of the staff. My previous company began mandating RTO, but our entire C and E suite all work remotely, and the rule didn't apply to them. I've heard the same from other people/companies as well. It is incredibly tone deaf for a CEO to justify RTO as good for the company while they work from home.
