Why are people now treating e-mail as instant messaging? I work with several people that for some reason expect all emails to be answered within minutes of being received…. I can understand the sense of urgency around some high-priority, time-sensitive matters… but everything does not fall into that category… it drives me crazy.

Financially, the move makes a lot of sense. Would this be good for career trajectory? For context, I have been a buyer for several years and this is my first 'real' job, so pretty early in my career.
