For a job change, there must always be comfort between profit and motivation, if that exists in your case I invite you to take the step and change of scenery.
It depends on what you like. An intl logistics coordinator is someone who is dealing with a lot of moving parts. You gotta get shipments by their destination on time, a lot of coordination between various parties (broker, freight forwarder, truckers, airlines, ports etc.). It's pretty much an operations job. If that's something you're interested, I'd say go for it. The pay may or may not be as appealing as a buyer. It just depends who you work with.
I understand that the big difference is that in your regular job you are basically your own boss, in this new project you are accountable to your bosses. It is a significant impact but if the pay is worth it and you keep doing what you like I consider it a good option.
It's a completely different wheelhouse but I think you will be able to learn a lot of skills in international business that you could not learn anywhere else. The future is globalization. (At least I hope so, since that's what I do.) Being able to coordinate with people in other countries is an absolute necessity in this day and age. I encourage you to pursue the potential opportunity for sure
Either path would be a good career choice, it all comes down to what you are most interested in. A lot of people choose to focus on globalization efforts because there is a lot of potential for growth in that area. As far as my personal preference, I don't like taking risks, and taking on a multi-national role is not a small thing, especially because of the instability in the market this past year
As someone working on the int’l logistics side, I’m currently trying to get away from it and into the buying side. Want to switch? 😂😂
