Hi! Great question! Ephesians 4:11 says, “So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
Ephesians 4:11-13 NIV
So to answer your question: yes, there are modern day apostles. The scripture above references what is called the “Five fold ministry”. These are offices appointed by God through the Holy Spirit. The meaning of apostle simply means someone who is sent out by God for a specific thing, most often to teach and plant churches. Some Christian denominations may disregard this verse and say that such things don’t exist but truth be told- things like this are only truly fully understood through the spirit of God- because it takes hearing God’s voice to know who are actually called to these offices of the apostle, prophet, evangelist and etc. These offices are appointed by God, not by man and they exist as gifts to the body of Christ as mentioned in the scripture.
I agree with the above, there is definitely apostles to this day….buttttt I still think it’s weird to title yourself to other people. Like if you’re a prophet, prophesy but let your gift speak for itself.
I feel like there are people who are title heavy, but gift light…

I also agree with the long post above. The five fold office is very relevant to present day according to Ephesians. However, each role has its on responsibility. I would def be alarmed someone is considering themselves and apostle and ask why or where are they getting that title? Are they planting churches? Are they instilling the original doctrine? (Not adding to the doctrine).
Unfortunately, I’ve seen self appointed “Apostles” use this role as a position of power/pride. Not saying the person you know is…but be careful
Agreed!
Mormons often refer to themselves as an apostle
