I think it's one of the things for them to look at, but it's not the most important thing. I don't think about my LinkedIn very often, and if they ask for it, I include it, but I rarely update it.
It's good to have a LinkedIn profile that appears more or less professional. Having a good photo of yourself is a good idea, and a concise job history. Whether you post a lot probably doesn't concern any serious potential employer. What will turn them off is if you've posted peculiar things or oddly negative things, or if the photos with your profile are of you doing keg stands.
Rising Star
It's not like their asking for your normal social media accounts, because that would be bad. Just let them, it's only got professional stuff on it.
Pro
It's mainly to get your professional summary nothing much.
