I had the same thing happen to me. It’s exhausting for both the team and the manager. Maybe you could ask for a quick check-in to share what communication style works best. Sometimes they just don’t realize how it’s coming across. My manager actually improved a lot after we had that conversation.

That’s actually a great idea to figure out what’s working and what’s not, so we can at least find some middle ground. I’ve been meaning to ask my teammates to come up with a plan and set up a team meeting.
Isn't that the worst? Like, just trust me to do my job and give me the space to breathe! My store manager is like that as well, and it makes me want to work slower just to be a little bit petty 😆 I don't, but I want to.

Haha, that’s actually a great idea, you should definitely try it sometime. And you’re right, it really is the worst!
To be fair, they just came into the role and while I can understand the frustration, maybe it is kind of a good thing they are at least communicating the expectations. I’d give it a bit and hopefully, they’ll relax once they get more settled in.

My situation is a bit different—he’s been a manager for a while, and I think that’s just the way he operates. I guess it is what it is.
