Tell them that flames, personal attacks, etc. are not acceptable, and they should take it into private email. Remove their posts and/or lock the thread to stop it from contaminating the rest of the community.
There is no policy regarding what residents can and can’t say (online) because it all comes down to their First Amendment right. You may have a policy about how residents must conduct themselves when using community amenities and on community grounds. If one of them is harassing the other, starting arguments, etc. You can issue lease violations to those at fault. Above all remember to treat them with respect and professionalism at all times. You can’t choose sides.
This isn’t a a property. This has nothing to do with First Amendment Rights.
Now is the time to implement those guidelines. Work to create the new rules and post them within the community. You can explain that these measures were taken to ensure a pleasant environment and safe space for all members.
You are well within your right as a CM to remove posts that are harmful to the community and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t.
This sounds like an opportunity to implement guidelines if you ask me. This way it prevents it from happening again. You don't want to be the community that's known for arguments
