I recently reviewed a media reporting platform.

It was very nice and had all the bells and whistles. Then it came time to do the demo and they wanted to stick me with a bill of $15k-$30k to custom build reports for me, during the demo phase.

Then came 3 additional calls of passive aggressive selling. I started the relationship saying I wanted to be their biggest brand advocate and I ended the conversation saying I like your product but I don’t like the sales circus you put me through.

Working Moms/Dads: Do in-house positions exist with flex time hours? I need to be able to leave work at 4pm to pick up my son from daycare, but i can get back online at home to resume any unfinished work at 8pm. Is this realistic to convey to any companies in an interview? Pandemic aside, is face time 9-7pm really important? Or should i just try to find a job with a salary that covers a nanny salary and accept that i will never see my son on weekdays (which would be sad for both of us)? TIA!

I just left my pre-seed startup that was running out of cash (we made $100,000 in revenue this year, and sunk $1m in costs). I was making $40,000 as a developer (plus 20k stock options at $1/share per year) and they refused to pay me any more money. I have 17,000 vested stock options, total number of shares at the time of my contract was 4million. I’m a bit confused about share dilution and if it’s worth it for me to buy some of my stock options… thanks in adv!

Going through a closeout. 50-50 profit share allocation, but my business partner has been using the venture money at their personal piggy bank (hence the breakup). My accountants say because we agreed to 50-50 shares, the leftover money has to be divided equally.

They spent $100k in the last month on random "work stuff" but bought a new car, etc. Now I have to pay for it with less equity return!

I recently started a local store visit campaign but it’s not allowing me to optimize towards store visits. My Google rep doesn’t know what she’s doing I swear, she’s not had any answers and she’s the one the recommended we utilize this ad type. Any ideas why it’s not letting me optimize towards this? Question for paid search experts who have big agency experienc (e.g. big 4, dentsu, etc.) - is it considered standard to use SKAG instead of STAG, and use alpha/beta structures?...even with the changes Google has made to phrase and exact match? The various agencies I've worked at (small agencies) never use that method.

If you were interviewing someone from a small agency and they said they didn't use those types of account structures, would you think they were inexperienced?

Does anyone use Universal Local Campaigns? A client wants supplemental support for specific locations. I’ve never run a ULC campaign targeting a single location - any idea if this would compete with our existing campaigns targeting the same locations (we run campaigns targeting location groups by region)? Can a ULC targeting a single location see scale without sacrificing too much cost/store visit efficiency? Google Help articles are, unsurprisingly, no help.

We're also not on a timeline where we can really get up to speed on it ahead of a couple deadlines.

I've also argued for budget for external consulting hours and that's been disapproved.

Hey all. Paid search strat here. What would the salary expectations be for a senior strategist in nyc for paid search be? I started 06/2021 as a assistant then promoted to a strategist 05/2022. I’m at 65k.. so I wanted to see what I should ask for especially if I am being considered.

I’ve been a search manager for 8 years. What kind of role can I take on at a place like Google etc ? I am trying to figure out what’s next for me. I’ve considered client side, a lot marketing director roles that I think could be a good fit but I feel lost. I am tired of no upward movement in my career.
