I'm looking to switch from criminal prosecution to in house. I have a 13 year background in healthcare and white collar fraud investigations. I'm looking to limit litigation (I've tried enough cases) and hopefully increase pay switching from government.

I am getting summarily rejected from a lot of postings and I'm wondering if it's even possible to switch over. Anyone make the jump or have advice on doing work to make the transition?

I work as an AGM in a busy restaurant. Been working there for just over a year, and haven't had a single raise. I now only make 0.50 cents more than even the lowest paid shift lead but I am doing a lot more work. I'm no longer satisfied with these conditions. I joined @mindtree in Jan 2022. Suddenly there is a 10k deduction in salary in the month of April. The salary slip say 10k deduction as INCOME TAX. Mindtree says "You come under 20% slab according to the income tax calculations. When all the tax slabs are applied you will have to pay yearly tax around Rs. X amount. So that amount will be deducted in monthly basis." Why sudden income tax deduction? Why was that not deducted in the month of Jan Feb March ? How can i recover that 10k every month?

First-year tax staff that started end of Q3, and just had my first year-end performance evaluation meeting. It’s hard to trust the partners/leadership when they want us to return to office as being better when we increase offshoring? Also, the pressure on billable hours when all that really matters is how much our fixed labor costs vs. how much we can bill (which is usually fixed fee or at least a range) and the fixed labor costs of offshoring is significantly cheaper so the hours don’t matter. Am I mistaken by this viewpoint?

Subject matter expert with my CPA. I’m completely fed up with the compliance aspect of public accounting Tax but don’t mind the technical side. Does it make sense to become an attorney to get out of compliance work and still do something related to specialty tax?
Or do I just go the college professor route? Wouldn’t mind working @ BNA or something like that either but I’m seriously fed up with everything about tax compliance and can’t keep doing this
