With or without the deal Iran keeps doing what it wants. Iran and China went into an agreement last week, China is going to use Iran oil for next 25 years and instead invest in Iran. So the sanctions really don’t do anything.

This is one of the many reasons I really dislike Trump and all these stupid ‘outsider’ type politicians who have no idea how to govern. He blew up a comprehensive deal (even if imperfect), imposed even harsher sanctions on Iran and in the process further destroyed US credibility internationally and cemented our reputation as flaky. Now, the Iranians have no reason to trust us, and have started enriching again. What are we gonna do? Go into another war? Does the public have any appetite for it?
This dude could have just left us in the deal, while using harsh rhetoric with Iran. Instead, his walking out of the deal left moderates in Iran with no face to show.

This isn’t going anywhere, trying to stop the inevitable through diplomacy with Iran is a non starter. The second ayatollah in command is a hardliner, putting it mildly, and that tells you who his boss is. With or without a new agreement they will have the capability to enrich uranium, only difference is how much are we giving them for a delay? full stop. Only way they won’t, or set back the timetable, is either the usa or the Israelis bomb they’re facilities. But in the end, it’s a two part problem, having a nuke is great, but if you can’t deliver it it’s a paperweight, the Israelis are clearly more concerned as Iran has weapons to reach them. My prediction would be within 6 years an escalation will occur between Israel and Iran with US logistical and military support. It’s going to be an interesting time.
They were busy laying the groundwork for once the sunset clause eventually hit (which we pod for), that’s why it has accelerated in pace since the pull out. Again, this is an eventuality, there is NO chance of them not obtaining enrichment capabilities without a pre emptive strike or all out war. Sorry to say, but this is the eventual outcome, and I assure you that their spiritual leaders look at it through the lens of regime survival, example A) saddam didn’t have wmd despite wanting to ramp back up after his war with Iran, we mopped the floor with him, they don’t want the same outcome therefore Nukes are the only way to achieve survival.

So we stopped recognizing the agreement in 2018 and since then they have significantly increased their nuclear enrichment activities, whereas before, they had complied with the agreement.
I don’t want a nuclear-armed Iran, period. At this point, isn’t diplomacy the best option? Right now there is a chance to play the “bad cop-good cop” angle.
Give Iran the chance to come back to the table and work something out. Granted, I struggle to see the upside for Iran since they have managed with the sanctions thus far with China helping to undermine them.
Already too late to the table on this one, the Iranians have already signed economic agreements with the Chinese and Russians, and to some extent Venezuelans. Though the latter is another subject all together that I won’t go into.
