I saw a CEO say “workers are facing Darwinian moment, thanks to AI, either evolve or get cut. It seems it is coming true for everyone including partners and MDs in consulting. How are you all retraining and learning new ways of working with AI? Are you sticking to more of day to day LLM AI usage or getting deeper with vibe coding and building custom agents to do more complex unique tasks?

I'm a leading voice. I'm literally one of the people helping write the fabric of how humans and AI work together.

You can be part of the change or you can be replaced by the change.

I choose to be part of the change.
I choose to lead from the front.
I choose to make sure that I'm part of what keeps humanity as part of the program.
I choose to push hard to make this easy and simple and understandable and desirable.

Because if I don't choose these things, other people will make choices I might not like.

And I want to make sure that this is done with values intact.

BDO1 that’s very good advice. I’ve been doing the same for the last 18 months and it’s paying huge dividends l

The better question, in hindsight, is how did we
Ever do this job without these tools

Same way our ancestors walked before they invented modes of transportation, but now that we have these tools, we better use them

I’m vibe coding a few passion projects on the side. It’s been a fun thing to do and a great learning experience for me. It may just turn into a business eventually…

I quit my job so I can spend every waking hour learning AI. (Not just talking about it in theory). I spent 500+ hours hands on and know I am ahead of many of my colleagues.

helpful

Remember they said the same thing about self driving cars and Uber/taxi drivers… 10 years ago. I’m not saying AI and LLMs won’t dramatically change how we work, but it will be over decades.

What makes that ceo think he’s immune?

He has the moolah 💰

I ran my own thing for a couple of years and built 2 agents, gave them associate consultant titles and put them to work on engagements alongside my more senior people. One eventually got 'promoted' to consultant as we honed its skill set.

But the point of naming and titling them was so that the human team understood 1) what type of work to give them, 2) what level of complete the work would be expected to be, and most importantly, 3) just like we wouldn't never send work directly from an associate to a client, the same oversight was required here.

It worked beautifully and now that I am in a corporate role, built one that can help me with a variety of things, including testing some of my theories and plans.

If you aren't using it, you are just holding yourself back.

Still haven't seen AI give me output equal to or better than a top associate.

I have. In mins
