I saw a job description today requiring "5+ years of experience in Generative AI." That technology hasn't even been mainstream for five years! It feels like companies are copy-pasting buzzwords to sound innovative without actually understanding the role they are hiring for. If you see a ridiculous requirement like that, do you apply anyway and call their bluff?

I come across postings like that all the time while searching for a new role. I usually apply anyway and see what happens. It does seem a bit unreasonable, though.

It’s actually been around for awhile. I think they are just looking for more experienced people. I mean people apply and if the pool is only 3 years of experience I’m sure they will hire from there.

Absolutely apply. It was not uncommon for me to see job ads asking for 10+ years experience in tech that had only been around for 5. If I match at least 60% of the requirements and am comfortable with being able to learn the rest, I apply.

I still apply if the core skills match. Many of these requirements are inflated by copy paste. I address it directly in interviews by reframing experience with adjacent tools and concepts.

Yeah they are just hyping the AI bubble nothing else.

If yes, how much one can expect in variable pay for fixed compensation of around 25-30lpa.

What's a good replacement for my daughter's old Ford Fiesta? Not much of a car nut but my ex-husband raves about this page so I joined up. Fine with a used car or new, just want a similar price point and keep it small, she doesn't want an SUV. I was thinking a newer model Kia soul maybe?

Hi Everyone, I am trying to apply for a Technical Support role at Dropbox I’m entering all the required fields but there seems to be an issue, when I hit submit after filling the form, it doesn’t submit and throws error ‘Looks like you left this blank! Please fill out this required field’ when all the fields are entered already (I have checked so many times, and filled the form from scratch several times too). Anyone from Dropbox who can put me in touch with HR or suggest what I should do next?

What you should do when dealing with a very toxic worker that keep on sending passive aggressive messages to you as well as in group chat and email.
Things like when you answer his question he respond: I know that
Or when he keeps on saying my change requests were just minor in group meeting but actually not.
And keep on saying how hard he works when he clearly wasn’t and already underperformed compared to an intern level.

How to not let this toxic co-worker not poison me any further?
