Do you have a classroom coach?

Does your school district train paraprofessionals? Especially the ones in sever ASD classrooms. If so how? Are there any great websites? Is anyone willing to share training PowerPoint slides? I’d like suggestions to bring to my supervisor on how to help training these new employees

What kind of behavior systems do you use in your classroom? I teach 1st grade. I’m tired of using the folder/calendar system with 🙂/🙁 and a prize box. Any ideas?

No one wants to give me a chance!!! I want to teach STEM, and my resume has all the STEM on it that I have done outside my classroom- overseas, summer school…and I am working on my masters in elementary education, science specialists. All they see is PREK. How can I ever get a chance to teach STeM if no one gives me a chance? Felling really discouraged.

Anyone have advice for talking to teachers in your school that are upset with you?
My 4th grade class didn’t show up today because the teachers are upset that student behaviors that are an issue in music are carrying over to their classroom. I understand their frustration, but nothing was communicated with me. I even thought things were going better this week.

What are your opinions on going deskless in the classroom?

I have a non-university related networking event with VCs, startup founders, and that sort of genre of tech people at a social club. I am a male and normally wear more colorful stylish clothing, but I know I’ll have to tone that down for the event. Any advice on what to wear? I struggle with a disability that affects my work life daily. I work in the beauty industry and in fashion reselling. Every single job I have been to has been nothing but cruel. I've experienced workplace bullying by managers and coworkers. I have always had to explain at the hiring process that I have a disability, only to have them not understand and be treated less than a human being. I worked at companies like the Hudsons Bay, Mac Cosmetics, Style Encore, and Platos Closet. I'm tired.

Hello Everyone, I have been teaching middle grades math for 8 years(have experience in 6th-8th, teacher leadership, and ed leadership certificate). My district posted an elementary academic coach position last week. Do you all think this would be a good move? Considering budget cuts and my experience or lack thereof.

My home district is considering grading for quarter 4. Is anyone else following this path? I am concerned how can a district grade when they do not support live teaching and the inequity of tech.?

Suggestions for difficult to reach teachers? It’s our 3rd year together, and we have a great relationship, but this teacher struggles with receiving feedback and wanting to reflect.

Any coaches here heading to ISTE19? If so, what are you most looking forward to?

Our teachers will be returning to our school building as usual (about 10 days before school starts) whether school is virtual or face to face, so our school is wanting to plan a traditional welcome back for them. In the past, the celebration was usually a whole school group event at on off-campus locale. Unfortunately, with social distancing, etc., it makes it quite difficult to do the big gathering. Just wondering what other schools may be planning to welcome back their teachers. Suggestions??

How do you collect data on classrooms?

Do you have “coaching agreements” between teachers and coaches? What kind of information goes into that document? 📝

How do you keep teachers engaged in learning and improving teacher practice at the end of the school year? I find this time of the year to be the slowest and my least favorite, as a coach.

Any advice for a new instructional coach? I just accepted the job and am trying to get a head start over the summer!
