I see that PwC is hiring, and I was thinking about applying because I've always wondered what it's like to work for the Big 4. But I know they had layoffs this year already, so is now a safe time to join the firm or should I avoid it?

Anyone work at an agency that doesn’t recognize titles? How does it work? How do you foster growth, recognition and satisfaction? Pros/cons associated with prioritizing function over seniority? Would love any thoughts!

I currently work in Transactions Tax but I am keen to move into Corporate Finance or FDD.

Do i really need to be in the office? I’m in more of specialty group and considered to be a regional resource, only have a couple local engagements and likely won’t get more than that because there is not a lot of work for what i do around here. The leadership has been hinting at wanting everyone to be in the office at least a couple days. I’m okay going in when I’m working on local projects but when I’m not and all of my team is out of state what’s the point?

If I'm forced to use my vacation, floater, etc. towards my study leave for CFE but I have vacation booked for right after CFE, will PwC still let me take that vacation as a "leave of absence"?

Anyone get frustrated when others have poor mic set ups in calls? It’s hard enough to get everything I need out of meetings when no one will put their camera on but it also have each person that speaks also to have they voice distorted in a different way just grinds my gears. Take some pride in your work. If you want to work from home, invest in a good microphone.

Curiosity question - I’m a naturally very chatty senior and I’ve noticed that the staff 1s who are starting remotely and living at their parents’ home (which makes a ton of sense with the remote working) that I’ve been working with seem to want to chat about both semi related work stuff and non work stuff a fair amount. If you’re a staff living at home, do you enjoy having seniors who will chat with you about random things or would you rather just get your work done and log off?

Working with no budgets in any team. Partners indirectly encourage you to eat up hours. End of year it’ll hit my util even tho im 150% utilized. Getting sick of this nonsense.
