Hey folks - I have an inquiry on my credit for a gym membership I “failed to cancel”. I had previously left this gym as it closed during pandemic, and shifted to a new location. In doing so, I informed the gym I would be leaving. However, I recently checked my credit and saw that my membership had not been cancelled and had been sent to collections (prompting an inquiry and dropping my score).

Is it common for Big 4 to hire from ordinary colleges? I’m genuinely curious since not a single partner that I’ve known comes from a Ivy League and almost all of them have a single degree. Culturally this is slightly odd for me since I come from a place where u needed to have pretty strong credentials to get hired and people at the top had them too, if not better. Curiosity question - I’m a naturally very chatty senior and I’ve noticed that the staff 1s who are starting remotely and living at their parents’ home (which makes a ton of sense with the remote working) that I’ve been working with seem to want to chat about both semi related work stuff and non work stuff a fair amount. If you’re a staff living at home, do you enjoy having seniors who will chat with you about random things or would you rather just get your work done and log off?

For those who moved from a client serving role to an internal role in public accounting while at a fairly high level (experienced manager or senior manager), did you take a pay cut or does your pay stay flat when you transition with minimal increases in subsequent years?
