It’s more like one party is setting everything on fire that would be the “conservatives” and the other is scared to haul off and beat the crap out of them for doing it after they put the fire out because 1/2 of the people forget who sets the fire in the first place.
Being the adults in the room everyone looks at the “liberal” party like they should be able to fix everything overnight.
That never works.
If folks would stop complaining and do whats expected of them, just do the work, let the higher ups scale your progress,, see what happens,, or fuss about it, wear yourself out, look you realize how many workers want work, some will do the job, yet others will just slow down , I dont ,,, launder hours,, the work is there,, I dont join groups that cost a mint a month either. I stay pretty much to myself, working on myself. Try helping where I see who need it.
You want to complain about the economy, think how many of us work, and how many act like it. The people in business suits are acting out and lying as they act. There are a tremendous amount who can over ride those who are just acting the part, and your scared todo a litttle pushing of your own??

Series of layoffs over decades and its accelerating recent years. We work with fears of “I’m the next, it’s coming soon” daily, not healthy at all!
We have so many middle management and C-levels who can’t even handle escalation, who are not the one actually doing the job using their hands. Then cut people, outsourced to “offshore”, who constantly needed step by step instructions, then player changes, start all over, repeat again.
Because they are dumping their DEI policies and will be hiring people that can actually do the job

There is a 4 year time difference that takes 4 years to cycle through any and all policies. We will be cleaning up Bidens team of thieves for the next 4 years. By then Trump will have a tight grip on the US economy and hopefully we wont have to pay and support illegal aliens.

meta has been laying off for the past few years. i was just a victim of that. putting all their eggs in the AI basket and letting go of engineers who built it. they built themselves out of a job. my team was cut in half, we all took on multiple roles, and 3 years no raise. they constantly pivoted and spent more in AR/VR and AI. automation is making desirable functions obsolete. it comes down to more money in Zuck's pocket, machines don't need PTO, benefits or real estate. in bay area, leasing empty offices in very expensive san francisco like salesforce and meta it was money thrown out the window. too many don't want to work in office or want more pay. it's am ugly industry now.
And it is only going to get worse for awhile
First, the economy is actually starting to sink more.
Meta is doing layoffs due to the fact that they want to remove fact checkers, content moderators, and entry as well as mid tier coders (Replacing those with AI).
A lot of industries have taken any entry positions that were remote and almost exclusively outsourced them, leaving a few insourced staff to manage them.
The tech industry is in a bad way RN and it has been for a few years. It'll turn around eventually.
Part of it is the change in the political climate. Many of the big tech companies has billions flowing in via the US Government and now that's changed and reversed, with Trump removing govt money from big to and is now funneling that money towards Israel. Also Trump is proposing letting anyone in with a college degree work here in the US, that will make our job searches even more difficult, and it will certainly lower the average income for these jobs, as an already flooded market will become much worse.
Technology companies are laying off employees not because the entire market is going to collapse, but because they themselves have eaten too much in the past few years and now need to "lose weight" while saving energy and food to grab the next big cake called "AI".
