I used to think alignment meant consensus. Now I’m just relieved if no one is actively undermining the plan. The last project I led had 5 teams and 3 execs, and I still found out someone launched a competing initiative halfway through. How do you define “alignment” when everyone nods in meetings but does their own thing afterward?

I got my masters in water resource engineering where I was coding a decent amount for assignments and it has really stuck with me.
