Isn’t that just Omegle? There were some very big problems with that… kind of a horror show to use unfortunately….
Yup. Chat Roulette still exists, but they had to institute AI moderation and human mods to cut down on all the bad content. And even then, it's not foolproof.
Yeah that's Omegle/Chat Roulette. It's a fun idea, but those platforms got abused fast. If you find a way to work around them, there might be something to it.
That's a nice idea on the surface, but having it work with human beings in the modern era is quite an obstacle. There's really no online space that's free from trolls and scammers. If you think it through, it seems unlikely that anyone would wait around in a room waiting to see if people can behave like normal humans.
I’m building something exactly like this except it’s professional (LinkedIn style), curated - so more matchmaking, and quick 3-5 min conversations back-to-back with people who align with your goals - the ones who can actually move your needle forward. With my background in working with bullies and those who are bullied, I see the nightmare side but also have more safeguards than usual and early on. Because I would need trained staff to recognize early warning signs and trained staff present at all times, the implemntation would be very small and very expensive. But if it works, we will ahve a road map for future moderation strategy. People will say this is already done but it's not done effectively. 90% of people can't recognize underlying behvaiors that lead to trolling and sometimes experts can't so it will take a lot but I think the final result could be worth the effort. And if not, the information learned from this could help someone else.
