Took me 2 months. Two years ago, I got offers in 2 weeks. One company I submitted an application for this time around took 2 months just to respond with an interview request. Things are still happening but at an incredibly slower rate than usual. Try to compartmentalize the fear, make sure to do some sort of exercise (walk for 20 min each day) and focus on a plan.
Stick to your plan even if you don’t want to. Example:
- meditate 1-2 a day
- go for the walk (min 20 min)
- make sure to keep your hygiene routine
- regardless if you’re hungry, you need to eat to nourish your body.
With your physical needs met, you will be able to keep your mental space clear and can work efficiently to find a new job.
Stay positive 🙏🏽
I was laid off 3 months ago. Applied to 500 places since then. 3 interviews and all else are rejections.
Good luck, I wish you the best.
Ahh this was me a couple months ago. Laid off from govt consulting role. Me & 2 other teammates were able to bounce back relatively quickly and got new jobs within 2 months. 1 team member didn’t have the same luck & is going on month 4 of being unemployed.
I guess it depends where you live. I had 3 very competitive offers with 2 weeks, including a sheriffs dept offer that came complete with a lifelong pension. (I didn't take that one due to all the Doge stuff happening in Feb and FL starting their own Doge and pulling funding from everything).
I was laid off last December, yes, right before the holidays. It was a crushing blow let me tell you. I didn't find a new job until mid-March
What is your background and what do you do?
Sorry to hear. I’m in public accounting and it took about 1 week to find a job. Interviews were quick.
I don’t know how it is in private. I don’t recommend public unless you really have to.
