Ah that makes sense. Thanks for sharing, OP. Any chance you could share the article with us?
Nice. Another way to see this is that launching a product in tough times can actually signal to the market that your company is confident and stable. Trust from consumers is more valuable than anything and I think this phenomenon ties in very much with why consumers will go in on buying products released during a recession.
I would like to see the article too.. Where did you find it? What you shared makes a lot of sense actuallly.. Are you planning to launch any products soon? I totally get the luxury products.. but I don't see people spending on snacks as much in hard times, I guess depends how hard of the time you mean.. if they are unemployed.. its just basic food.
Wow that's actually really interesting, I haven't heard anything like this before. I guess I’ve noticed during slower economies, affordable treats and “small luxuries” do take off. People still want comfort, just in a more budget-friendly way. It’s smart marketing, honestly.
Fascinating. It makes a lot of sense when you spell it out like that, counterintuitive as it seems at first glance. The one that always makes me laugh is the correlation between the start of the NCAA Tournament and an influx in vasectomy appointments. Apparently a good number of men have decided that if you're going to have to take time off of work to recover from a vasectomy, the best time to do it is when there's basketball on TV for 16 hours a day.
