Hi fishes, I am working for client and I am finding myself isolated at office as everyone seems to be working like donkeys. No fun no WLB. Just work and leave. And they are monitoring us on 9 hours working time. I recently joined IBM and I have never worked at client location before. Feeling too low these days.

So exhausted of both doing this work daily and then trying to find energy to job search. How have others managed around that? Considering putting 2-3 weeks of PTO in my calendar after this project ends just to focus on job searching because I’m unable to put any meaningful time to it. Thanks for any tips y’all are able to provide!

My previous manager would track us by hours daily, made a fuss everytime anything stretched and guilt us for that and the unplanned leave too unless it was COVID. Hinted him a lot of time, this is problematic but apparently he considered it "standard practice for agile".

Now 8/10 teammates have switched within < 1 year of project start (6-7 months with him) which tbh had good work in our opinion and even team was fun to work with even though none of us ever met in person.

Portfolio question to creatives, especially the freelancers out there. The last produced campaign I have in my book is from 2020. I’ve been busy freelancing since but nothing book-worthy IMO. Lately I’ve been getting a lot of “what else you got” and “send over your up-to-date resume” comments from recruiters and GCD level creatives. How do you handle this? Do you give a general client and/or agency list? Some are also asking about side hustles and it’s frankly getting exhausting.

Do you often partner with other freelance creatives? I'm slowly building a roster of freelancers in different disciplines to pass on some of my private practice work.
Here's why:
1. Increases my capacity and shortens my turnaround time.
2. Other freelancers are usually experts in the area that I don't want to actively work on myself
3. I get to specialist on the parts of the project I like most and lead the creative direction for the rest.
