I was selected as a student ambassador but it seriously upsets a veterinarian I used to work with. He's a practice owner (nice GP clinic with 3-4 doctors). He says big corporations corrupt the industry. I honestly hadn't considered these issues and always feel I'd love to work in a big corporation after graduation - I'd love the huge caseloads and working with different specialties. Anyone have a take on this?

Veterinary assistant and veterinarians may have different views on this, but me personally as an assistant always looks at the individually owned clinics, i feel that corps are more in it for the money. My opinion

I'm sure the vet you work with has his reasons for feeling the way he does. He may have caught you off guard and made you feel a bit defensive, but I would continue the conversation and see if you can learn anything from him. You never know!

I think there is some truth to what he's saying. Usually once small companies are sold to bigger companies, the quality decreases because corporations care about money more than anything

Student ambassador positions open doors that you might not get if you hadn’t had this opportunity! Use this as a learning experience and to network and make connections that you otherwise wouldn’t have been able to. It is a red flag imo if a veterinarian who is likely also someone that is mentoring you, doesn’t support your opportunities as a STUDENT.

Hey y’all. I went through an exceptionally traumatizing experience a few years ago that has totally & utterly shattered my confidence, self worth, self esteem etc. I have a hard time portraying my work experience + deserving of a new role.

For context, I did well in uni, got into law school but due to finances + the experience in question I didn’t end up going. Kept working in the public sector as a coordinator & now got my scrum master certificate to transfer to SM role in finance/ tech. Help

Hello folks,
I have an offer in hand by value labs and Accenture and I’m more leaning towards valuelabs. However, I’ve seen a lot of comment online which were made in 2022 and before as well that the job security is an issue in value labs and they will fire a chunk without any prior notice.
Is it true?
I would really appreciate if anyone can shed some on light on this.

So… 3.5 year relationship came crashing in Jan due to covid depression, work burn out, lockdown etc. We have stayed in contact and recently he has come around to apologizing and considering getting back together. However he also revealed he started seeing someone casually 4 weeks ago and technically is cheating on her by meeting me for coffee and to discuss this. I’m upset that he’s dating others but shouldn’t be right? I mean, I did the same. Still hurts though. And I told him to sort that out
