I've never stopped to help out at a roadside accident just because when I've passed them it would be more dangerous to stop and EMTs were already there. I've pitched in at times when people have been injured at picnics, ballgames, and so on. If I saw someone fall and hit their head I'd probably offer assistance before giving it a second thought. Not sure if that's legally reckless, but it's just instinctive.
Good Samaritan laws usually cover you if you help.
