Con: Expect busy level 1 trauma center with the sickest of patients and always short-staffed often placing staffing in difficult situations. Not sustainable long-term, not likely to negotiate (but given current situation, might) Pro: you will get good experience, never a dull day.
I personally have not been able to negotiate a higher rate of pay. That is one thing that kind of stinks about working for state hospitals. Their rates are usually fixed and they can't go above them.
Would you be able to elaborate on your experience please? :)
Benefits are better, but I wouldn't bother trying to negotiate pay - is what they're offering lower than what you're currently making?
Unfortunately they can't match due to the strict pay brackets for each year of experience
