I was told by a senior once that 'we worked 80 hours a week back in my day, and weekends too. Cool! Does not mean we should still be doing it now. Why do you think we cling so tightly to outdated practices?

I really doubt any claims like this. Even if they had a stay at home spouse to raise their 2-4 children there’s no way they did 80 hours and didn’t burn out.

I have 5 YOE in Analytics... always thought I wanted to be a DS, but every job (even the junior ones) required experience in ML development. Though I am part of the ML project, I'm not the person develop the model. And I have a hard time when the interviewer ask about how I develop the model and what hyperparameters I tuned. I know the thought process and stuff but 'I' wasn't the one who did that part in the project. How to convince them that I could do the job without taking credit of others.

I have worked with Forbes top companies, for-profits, non-profits, & startups. I consider myself a solver of complex & complicated problems requiring mixed method research & novel solutions. This has led to issues in self-referencing title.
