I watched a patient throw a plastic cup at a tech, and the manager's response was to ask what we could have done to improve the patient's experience. The complete lack of backing from administration when it comes to staff safety and basic human respect is staggering. We are expected to tolerate physical and verbal abuse under the guise of empathy and customer care. At what point do we start filing actual police reports instead of internal incident logs that just get filed away in a drawer?
