My book of business dipped a little during the summer months, but now that the holidays are coming (and all the family drama that comes with them), things are picking back up again.
I can see that! I think that's part of why I've been surprised... usually around the holidays, it seems to be pretty busy.
I think shelter in place and quarantine, as well as COVID itself, really affected people. Now that things are opening up and people have communities and wider support systems to rely on again, people aren't seeking out therapy as much.
I did observe a similar trend and I don't understand where it came from. Is it because of the holidays? If so, what about it? Or is it because the world is slowly opening up again that people aren't so confined anymore...
I really did not notice anything significant so this is quite interesting. But at what month did you observe the trend begin? And what months have you had the most visits?
It's really been just the past couple of months. I'm not sure if there's an issue with the practice. I've been in the process of switching business managers, so I wonder if that could be part of the problem too?
The holidays are here and people tend to need more help around the holidays.
That makes sense, I'm sure people have gotten busy with families and personal things.
Hmm can't say we have experienced that.
Were your visits primarily telehealth? I did notice a slow down in particular with telehealth visits.
Yes, I was doing quite a few telehealth visits. I've noticed a huge slowdown with those.
It could be that the holidays are coming up and people are trying to save money. Many companies are laying off employees in large numbers.
Ohhh I hadn't thought about that. That would make sense for sure.
