I will complete my masters degree in Information Security and IT Management in Sept, and I'm looking for the next opportunity for my career in the UK. I have over 5 years of experience in a IT support/systems administrator role. I've had offers (£20k-23k) but salary seem underpaid for one with a masters degree. Please can anyone help with recommendations and suggestions? I am open to relocation within the UK. EY Microsoft McKinsey & Company Amazon Google KPMG Schlumberger Boeing BAE Systems plc

Master's degrees don't do much for higher pay anymore, unfortunately. You'll usually need to get some experience under your belt at lower pay or prove your mettle with some contract projects. A bit surprising that your 5 years of experience isn't helping, though. Maybe just a saturated market where you're looking.

If you can't find a referral here, I would try over on Linked in. I usually have good luck over there! Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the reply, I guess cause I'm having a career switch (into cyber) so my 5years isn't really counting for much. I'll focus more on getting the experience than the money. For now though.

Thank you very much. I'm working on that already. 🙏

Just got offered a job at a small biotech in London (UK). ~£45k plus bonus but only 1YR FTC and no equity.

Pretty sure it's a discovery role too.

I just finished my PhD at a very good uni with 3 years technician experience before that. BSc and MSc also at very good unis with good grades.

I think this offer is well below par, but curious to hear what you guys think/if you have any comparisons?

Hey fishes,

Let’s say
Brillio gave some joining bonus and if we are leaving within an year we need to pay it back.
So does it mean I need to put papers after one year or is that okay to put papers after 9 months, so serving 3 months notice makes it one year.
Please let me know if anyone had an idea about this.

I started interviewing early Oct with a company that reached out via recruiter. The hiring manager was very straight forward with me that I was his top candidate and I was told all other interviews were very positive incl CMO. The recruiter said they'd be making an offer but it's now been three weeks. Anyone else had the process drag on like this? Meanwhile I'm taking other interviews and was offered a promotion at current company, but was very interested in this one. What would you do?
