1. Check the link at least a day in advance so you can reach out if there is an issue, plus will also test your local setup
2. Join atleast 5 minutes before, you never know if it goes crazy at last moment
3. Have pen paper handy
4. Dress professionally like you are in an in person interview and ensure to have a clear background free from distractions
5. Choose a quiet place to sit and interview
Make sure you've got a quiet place that has excellent WiFi connectivity (test it out to make sure). Dress as if you were attending in person. Come prepared with questions and talking points. Join a couple minutes early. Position the video as close to your camera lens as possible. That way you can see the interviewer but "look them in the eye" by interacting with your camera lens rather than the image. Be confident and be yourself. You've got this!
Video near camera lens is great tip
On top of everything here, check your lighting, and make sure you level your camera to your eye level. Put books underneath if needed. Otherwise you will be seen as looking down all the time. And I prefer using headphones with mic for sound qualities. If you have one, you should use it.
I second everything everyone has already stated. A few minutes before the interview, I typically start a zoom meeting and invite a friend to join, to mask sure everything looks great on the other end of the screen.
U can cover yourself up with a post it.
I would only add that try not to have your head be the only thing in the computer frame. It’s better if your head is at the top of the frame and they can see your body. It gives you more presence and more ability to be approachable with your hands and body language.
Better orient the people you're living with about it too. That way they wouldn't be able to enter your space or make any loud mistakes while you're in a call. Goodluck!
Write down questions you want to ask. I always think its best to be prepared with some of your own, and maybe a few notes about whats most important to you.
Dress to impress. Talk slowly and be sure to smile. I actually like Zoom interviews. I feel way more at ease doing it from home.
Speak clearly and confidently, be comfortable they can sense that also be receptive to how they are reacting. Managers usually smile or laugh as i explain something in an entertaining way keep it as a conversation rather that a question answer session
Find a friend and practice before hand on zoom ( or any platform like it ), practice until it feels natural talking into computer , as if the interviewer was sitting across from you. In addition blur your background , sometimes it can be distracting .
Stay calm. Speak with confidence. Take note or mentally take note of the things they find important and relay a question back that is related to that. They will know that you pay close attention to detail. Good luck!
