I work at for an in house creative team for a big Fortune 500 company. Our Director announced said that after reviews a lot of showed wanting to move up. They said due to this they’re going to:
-Create and administer a test that quiz’s us on the last 6 months of training, emotional intelligence.
-Each question they said would be a trick question.
-The core goal of the test is so management can view us subjectively since they can’t be in all our meetings see us work.

I’m pretty passive when I’m disrespected by creative but I think it sets a bad example for my team. If any of my reports were spoken to the way I was I’d raise hell...how set example?

When cold contacting an agency (because the agency doesn’t post jobs online), is it better to contact the head of account mgmt, or the agency’s recruiter?

When is it appropriate to ask / explore working on a different account? Or, alternatively, how long do you stay on a account before you start itching for a change? I’m happy with my agency but it’s been a long two years on my current client and wondering if I am just in need of something new. I’d also like to ensure I don’t get too deep on any one industry.

Is 7 weeks too early to start thinking I may have made a huge mistake in switching to my current gig? For those you went client side, what pushed you to move from an agency to brand management? What do you like more working in house?

Throughout my career, I have worked at both “traditional” and “digital” shops. My current agency would fall under traditional but also offers digital services. Our process, roles and skillsets seem way outdated but I wasn’t sure if it was just my opinion or if this is just how it works. For example, we have no CTO or tech leads. Our digital producers feel more like project managers than actual producers. Account Management is just traditional, no real digital knowledge. Feels layered and dated.
