If you want to be a successful realtor you need to go into it with a thorough marketing plan (and budget) and know all of your local market data points religiously. You’d also help yourself by finding a niche to focus on rather than branding yourself a generalist. E.g. don’t be the guy who says they work on buy side and sell side, short sales, land, and commercial transactions. You’ll never stand out and never have a competitive advantage over the many, many other realtors.
You’d also better be prepared to make little to no income for an extended amount of time while you get your business off the ground.
OP—what part of the real estate business? Investing? Being an agent? As another poster noted, this is a very large and diverse field.
I’m looking into being an agent/realtor. I was looking at some online sites that offer the 60 hour course licensing. Just also wanted to know if there were other ways people have gone about it! Thank you!
