PwC has provisionally cleared me to join the firm first week of Jan. What does this mean? Can I start working with them even if the background check is still running in parallel? Can I quit my current job and expect everything to be cool? They said it's taking them longer to verify education and previous employment. Both of which are international.

Don’t need to tell anyone, just proactively block your calendar for appointments (give cushion before and after) and mark the blocks as OOO so people know you’re away from your computer. Worked fine for me.
No one needs to know, appointments can be in the mornings before work or schedule them around your availability. It’s not that challenging from a schedule perpevtive tbh
None of their business
Don’t tell anyone. Unless there is someone you know for a fact that went through it, and you trust them and are seeking advice. Otherwise it’s none of the firms business.
I wouldn't tell your "office," but if your manager is a decent person you can tell them if it would help them be more understanding of why you have less flexibility in the mornings / potentially for travel if that's a thing for you. It could be one less point of stress for you to be able to just talking honestly about what you're doing instead of trying to have to think about how you want to talk about any time you do take away that needs communication (which normally wouldn't be a lot as you can do things in the morning as others have pointed out). So there isn't really a right answer here, it's just what makes sense for you based on who you work with and how private you want to be.
Same but I was thinking to share lol
I wouldn't tell anyone. It's really not any of their business what you do with your time outside of work.
Don't tell anyone. Just focus on yourself. The more they know the more difficults you have.
I did it and did not tell anyone. I just blocked my calendar where needed. It was a bit of a challenge but I managed it.
I did have to give myself shots at work a few times. That might have been the hardest part where work was concerned
