I work in assurance and was just offered a job outside of BDO. If i start the new position in 30 days when should i give notice? Can’t go without income for more than a couple weeks and I’ve heard that mgt doesn’t let people stay long after notice.

I recently left the Army about a year ago. Did a DoD SkillBridge fellowship and accepted the full time offer because I was scared of not having a paycheck. About a year later, still at the company and I hate it. Don’t feel purpose and I’m working with recent college grads as my peers. How do I get a job that takes advantage of my experience, whereas mine currently views me as starting over?
