I work with a government agency, and we wanted to set up a team outing. Most of us were keen on a karaoke night but found out that the rule book for team bonding outings karaoke is considered inappropriate and not prohibited. I'm an expat, and I'm sincerely curious to understand why this is the case. Apparently, even dry/non-alcoholic karaoke lounges are not appropriate according to the government. Does anyone here know more about this? Would love to understand the reasoning.

I’m a second year BigLaw associate that pays market. I was offered the position at a modified salary and hourly expectation due to their expected work flow needs.
