No, rather it's the opposite phenomenon. When 5G arrives then load on the 4G network will be decongested which will give us better speeds as most users will be using 5G networks. I've seen this happen with me as Airtel 4G was painfully slow in 2017-18, but when I set my phone to use 3G network, it automatically had download speeds of 7-9 Mbps and better indoor coverage (as I live within a high rise apartment) which is faster than the 4G speeds of 1-2 Mbps on average this was before Airtel shutdown their 3G network in 2019. The only con here was no VoLTE calls, but for me voice quality on 3G was good enough for me. Thankfully, they refarmed those 3G frequencies and I get decent download speeds and voice quality on 4G now! 😌
5G would provide reduce latency, which is beneficial in scenarios like Cloud/Multi-player games and would support real-time technologies like AR/Driverless cars and all.
I don't see 4G going away anytime soon, cause I myself used Airtel and BSNL 3G till Mid 2017, I didn't hop on the Jio bandwagon! 😝
Ooh ..
But I think bsnl is cheaper and not so bad
Depends on what you mean by 5G. There are currently 2 implementations, mmWave and Sub6.
mmWave is the one that provides a very high bandwidth at the cost of range. When you see 1gbps speeds on 5G, those are mmWave. Very few carriers in the US offer this.
Sub6 is a bit slower, but has a lot more range and a lot of 5g phones support it. This piggybacks on the current 4g spectrum.
Well, I'm not sure about the technical part. I'm from India. 5g is just gonna be rolled out this month.
Probably. I have my own theories about this.

You can share it. 😄
Depends if it's nsamode like airtel or sa mode like jio
With carrier aggregation with 4g and 5g, load will increase a bit on 4g, wheras jio has true 5g, so no extra load on 4g leg
