SHOULD they split origination? Yes. DOES it all go to the partner (anyway)? Yes. We operate in a world that is unfair most of the time.
It's going to be up to the partner. The partner probably will not share it, because they get money for originating, whereas the associate does not.
You can come up with other factors like who handles it and who really does the pitch, how senior and valued the associate is and how close to partnership, how generous the partner is... but I'd start with the above.

Depends on a lot, but the partner would probably take the view they were teaching you how to pitch business, which may be true, not that you were bringing in the work.
