If I have 2-3 part-time work experiences that are substantive and relevant to jobs I’m applying to, should I clearly indicate them as “part-time” and maybe put “(part-time)” in parentheses next to the job title? I’m asking because I wouldn’t want hiring managers to assume I have more experience than I did and then get into a role that’s over my head. I also was in graduate school full time for two years and was working two substantive part time jobs that are extremely relevant to consulting.

I think it's a good idea to label them as part-time if it's important for context, especially if you're worried about expectations. It shows transparency without downplaying your experience. You can always highlight the skills you gained and how they’re relevant, which can speak for itself!

It would be good to list them and label them parenthetically, as you indicate. If they're relevant and you were a student at the time it says something about you that you'd want a hiring manager to see. And don't worry about getting in over your head, just worry about getting in the door. Once you're inside chances are you'll figure things out just fine.

Thanks. Just worried that not listing as part time could make them think I have 2.5 years of full time consulting experience, not part time. Guess it’s not a big difference but I’ll take your advice and list it as part-time

However, there is one specific thing that bothers me....... (cont)
