If you could change one thing about the recruiting process, what would it be? For me, it’s the endless unpaid case studies... hours of work just to get ghosted or rejected with no feedback. I get that firms want to test your skills, but it feels like free consulting.

Yeah, those are the worst. BUT, If I could change one thing, I’d scrap the aptitude/ability tests entirely because they slow hiring and don’t reflect how you actually perform on the job.

I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

Background: got a promotion at current company that didn't come with sufficient increase . After stating my case I was told it would be evaluated next October, which is what prompted the initial job search.

Current TC 103K [88/15], offer 125k base [+discretionary bonus].

Is there such things as FP&A positions in Big 4? If so, are there better times to make the change than others (I.e. at senior vs manager)? My current company and many others I know about do not offer the mobility to do so until much later, which is not what I want. Thank you.

I’ve completed the first interview with the hiring manager and a colleague, and have been fortunate to get to the next stage but im unsure how to prepare. I’ve done the usual compentencies, strengths and weaknesses and company research. But I don’t want to fail at the last hurdle as I really like this company and it would be a dream to work there any support or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
