Oh. No.
Don’t mention freelancing in your LI title. Dead giveaway to your current agency. You can use LI to connect with others and let them know that you also freelance. But, those you connect with will know you are doing both. Might be harmful if you were to take another staff job at another agency bc they may not want someone who will freelance on the side.
For a while I listed freelance in my job history in Li and listed the agencies i worked at there but not in my title and switched to open to work viewable by recruiters. Just to kick in the algorithm so I would show up on freelance searches any recruiter did in the network. No one at my agency ever noticed, I don’t think many of them are scrolling through my entire LI page on a regular basis. But also I started getting so many freelance gigs I quit my FT job and now I’m tripling what I made there 😂
I’d love for that to happen for me too! Good on you!

If you’d like, you can list your freelance business name on LinkedIn as a separate position (that probably started before your current one.) However, I’d only recommend doing this if you plan on using LinkedIn to find more freelance. If not, you can just leave it off LinkedIn entirely.
It’s fair to use ‘consultant’ and ‘interested in xyz’ projects on LinkedIn. Be open, vague, and neutral.
Agencies promise nothing and the way you stay ‘creatively attractive’ to your full time agency is by staying ‘creatively current’ (something most agencies cannot provide/promise/minimally aim for).
Be transparent. Do not work on competitive clients (ie do not work on 2 accounts that are even loosely acquainted in their industries) and carry on.
