THISSSSSSSSSSS. I have to agree.....we don't want to pay tax LOL
Skiing in an hour. Forest running trails 10 mins from work. Paadee, Eem, Hatyai. The chilled airport. And essentially just how easy life is here compared to other bigger cities. We seriously don’t know how good we have it here.
How far east do your live? The closest hill is TDH and closest lift is Skibowl. Both well over an hour for me on the west side!
Moving back to Seattle soon after 15 years. Pretty much everything we love about Portland is there, plus water views and easy access to Canada. I'll miss my friends here but I still have friends in Seattle to reconnect with. Maybe I'll miss the Blazers but I'll have the Storm, plus Mariners, Seahawks, Kraken.
Not to be a nerd, but Powell's Books is at the top of my list. I really made a home out of it since I first moved to Oregon. I would miss it terribly.
Probably the mountains. I moved her to be closer to them and I've never regretted it once. Best place to be if you love to ski!
I really love how walkable this city is. I can get around on bike or foot. Not too many cities are like that.
I love love LOVE Portland. All of it. The easy access to the outdoors. The fact you can board and surf in the same day. The creative scene. The beautiful downtown…oh wait, that was 10 years ago. Is that why you are potentially leaving? Yeah, on my second tour living here—for a total of 20 years—enough to call myself a local. But yeah, having second thoughts about staying here now. It’s just changed so much…not for the better.
The people. Portland is beautiful but it's the warm and loving people that I've met that really have turned this place into home for me. Without them I wouldn't love it half as much.
Definitely the people. I have lived lots of places and the people here are second to none. Everyone here is so chill and nice.
The adventures I go on and the interesting characters I meet when walking to Union (Amtrak) Station and Old Town.
The bike lanes
I would really miss the nature. Portland is so scenic. There's nothing else like ti.
I would miss skiing. I lived in Florida for a while and didnt start skiing until I moved to Portland 5 years ago. I absolutely love it.
The mountains!!!
I am missing the mountains! Ski season is my favorite! Also, my best friends back home.
Missing the people the most! I can't wait to go back and visit my family. See ya in a few months!
The abundance of green spaces and lush landscapes. I really love the parks here. They're the reasons why I moved here in the first place.
The bike culture. It just feels so therapeutic to me being able to go everywhere on a bicycle. It wouldn't be the same anywhere else.
Mt. Hood. My friends and I have a special spot where we have the greates view of the mountains. I'd miss that and the memories spent in that very spot.
The craft beer. No other city does it quite like Portland, or even Oregon in general. You can't get that great a quality of a pint anywhere else.
Abundance of coffee places and nature!
