Like income taxes? Isn’t it already relatively low once you factor in assorted credits and the like?
Tbh I’m more inclined to increase services / cash payments but think we agree on general premise.
Bro/Sis - it’s a graduated scale for a reason. Trust me that the poor are taken into consideration. And I say this as a +500K household
D1 - I’ll take that weak comment as you conceding. Thanks

The 3 year no salary raises must hit really hard.

Sir this is a Wendy’s
This doesn't apply to me at all. I make above 6 figs but I think the very poor of our society that are struggling affording simple basics like bread and eggs deserve a better life
You don’t get Social Security or Medicare if you don’t earn it through work

It’s pretty minimal at that income level.
Not true. Lowest bracket is 10%
Idk if that’s the correct threshold, but definitely agreed people whose income is already too low to comfortably make ends meet don’t need to be subsidizing wealthy people and businesses.
More like 100k, inflation has caused shrinkage

They don’t pay taxes and are, in fact, recipients of tax dollars once all programs and payments are considered.
If you're making less than 35K a year at Accenture, you don't need a tax break, you need a need job.
Oh, shit; yeah man that’s a good point- I’ll work to get that changed for you
If only there was a small thing each of us could do to contribute, just a tiny bit, toward a better society if so choose.

What’s the incentive for a promotion at that point?
We should have a system where the higher up the corporate ladder you go, the less you pay in tax so you're incentived to work really hard and gun for promos

I can’t imagine you pay that much after deductions no? Could be wrong. Curious how much you pay on taxes OP (assuming you are posting this because it applies to you)
It almost certainly doesn’t apply to OP. Deduction is $15k. You’re going to be taxed on that other $20k.
Apparently you pay 6.3% if you make this much and are single with no kids. Goes down from there and income tax can even go negative given EITC is a refundable credit.
No.

Are there any US consultants in this bowl making that little?
Doesn’t have to be. We can have empathy towards the working class.
Which taxes? Federal or state income, payroll, sales, all the above?
