I’m a 2nd year associate and just received an offer at as a valuation analyst at a PE firm with AUM ~$60billion. Pay will be $150-170 compared to ~90k right now. My main issue is the exit opportunities. My ultimate goal is to be on the deals team at PE shop, and I’ve gotten to final rounds at multiple LMM but have gotten beaten out by IB people. Do you think taking this offer then trying to pivot to deals team is doable? Anyone have advice?

I am currently in industry, but was a Senior in Accounting Advisory, and before that an audit associate. I’m thinking of trying DDV at PwC as I’ve always been interested in M&A integration, but am unsure on carry over of skills and also would like to go somewhere I can be bumped to Manager as I was almost there prior to leaving industry.
