I’m a WPF C# dev with 15 yrs exp, 3 yrs in current project, age 35. A 1-line fix took me 2 days due to complex legacy code and stress. I couldn’t justify the time, manager got angry and escalated it citing repeated delays. Now facing possible PIP. Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, but genuinely trying. Has anyone faced similar? How did you cope? It is too much pressure and hectic schedule for me. Honest advice please.

Adding some context:
My manager is a strong developer with 15+ years in the same project. I struggle with technical communication and often lack confidence in meetings. I tend to take blame even for others, which affects my image. I’m also recovering from surgery, so I take breaks during the day and work late to compensate — but still, my daily output, at the evening, often falls short of expectations.

This legacy project has been running for 15+ years.

After spending 3 years in it, isn’t it too much to expect one person to handle everything —

new features, bug fixes, production issues, frequent trainings, creating training materials, and even people management? It’s not just about skills, it’s about bandwidth and balance.

Are there same expectations in all companies?

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

How do you split income/expenses with your spouse? Wife earns about 75% as much as me. Don’t have kids yet. Do you have a joint account for everything or do you split common expenses 50-50 or in proportion to income? Something else? This has caused some contention so want to benchmark. Thanks!

I don't know how some people do things that to me seem so risky. Maybe I'm just way too conservative.

A friend and spouse recently purchased a home twice the price of ours and took additional amount of loan on top "for paying off other debt." They make less than half what we make and owe three times as much in other stuff (car loans, cc, irs, etc). I'd be so stressed and likely wouldn't have taken such a loan (5.8%) for an even smaller home than ours. Just thinking about it stresses me out tbh.

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. Hi guys, please help on what can we do in below situation:
I am working on project which located at Mumbai location and I dont want to work from office at Mumbai Location. I am fine to work at Pune location i.e base location of Tech M. I am already serving notice period and last 20 days remaining.
