They’ve already responded and now the leadership team is thinking about why you’re not as senior as those other people to justify the comp difference, which I think hurts you as they think about who to promote next. These comp discussions mid-cycle don’t usually result in much change. I would move on and prep for year-end/performance discussions
If they explained the difference… does the explanation make it clear that you in your role is worth less than someone else in their own role?
It basically amounted to the fact that the other ppl have been at the firm longer than me.
Your post is confusing because you say that they are in your same class and then say they have been at the firm longer. How many years into your career are you?
One thing to learn is this isn’t preschool and things are not always equal; which is fair because effort and contributions are rarely equal even among staff at the same level. After being out of school a few years most companies pay for performance through the annual raise cycle. If 2 people start at a firm and one is a rockstar and the other is average it’s very possible within 3-5 years there could be a 20-30k difference or more in their total compensation.
Suggest OP's attitude may be what's getting in their way here...
You realize we have no idea what a "lit firm" means?
Pay is a function of experience, results, opportunity, brownnosing, etc. Not of the calendar. Get over your bad self.

If there was a clear and visible difference explaining the pay difference between you and other they made it clear there will not be an adjustment to your salary with whatever gap in qualifications. Now the only thing you can do is create a pathway to shrinking that gap. Once you have done that you can come back to the negotiations table but until then you are worth X and they are worth Y. You will not receive Y until you meet whatever missing criteria you are lacking in. You're an adult and should be able to read that message between the lines.

So basically you're arguing against seniority? You do realize that anyone starting after you will look at you the same way? When it comes to seniority the only answer is to stick it out. You said "out of my control" but that's where you're wrong. Time is something you can manage. Keep working and don't rock boats causing the hire ups to put a target on your back. You mentioned the other coworkers were from the same "class". I'll assume you mean the year they graduated but clearly they started with this employer earlier than you. Most of us need to get another certificate, Licensure, or degree to justify higher compensation, all you have to do is ride out time. Sounds like a fair deal to me.
You can definitely try, but it sounds like they aren't super up for negotiation. It sounds like continuing the conversation won't really amount to much. But it probably wouldn't hurt to try.
