Get a hardwired level 2 charger. The 240v takes forever
Level 2 is 240v FYI
(120v “trickle charging” is referred to as level 1)
If you have 200 amp breaker at home, get a level 2.
If you don’t, you’ll have to use a 240v outlet (approx 1% per hour)
For some chargers, hardwire installation allows for higher amperage and thus faster charging speed.
I just did a 240v in my garage and I can get almost a full charge overnight for my Mach-E
I second what Senior Director 1 said (my wife has the same car). I installed a 240V outlet in our garage (50A breaker and 8/3 cable to future proof). 30-amp charger at 240 volts charges at rate of 7.20 kW. For a base model Mach-E with a 70 kWh battery, this will charge from 20% to 90% in approximately 7 hours. The hardwired level-2 charger works draws 48 amps, so it works out to ~4.5 hours for the same amount. If you charge at night and have a “normal” sleep and driving schedule, the hardwired charger may be overkill. I will say it definitely looks sleeker, though. Hope this helps!
Thickness of the cable, thicker cable provides less resistance to the flow of energy, think it like a water tube , the bigger the better for better flow, less heat and overall safer operation, also note if installing a 240v outlet do it with a professional so they don’t skip on cheap plugs, you need a plug for consistent use not the pnes from dryers
I use an outlet charger and I’ve never needed more than that
