I’m considering moving to canada since I’ve a PR and my company just filed my PERM 2 months ago. I’m wondering if I could stay in canada until I get a citizenship and then move back to the US if I do want to come back (and if I feel so inclined prepare for my EB1 application). I heard from a few folks in canada that it’s best I move as early as next year due to upcoming Canadian elections in 2025. Any advice on navigating this convo within my firm/around the move would be highly appreciated!

i had my canadian pr last year but didn’t do the landing since covid hit. the deadline passed of course and the immigration office reached out to check if i’m still interested and if so i should re-do a medical. assuming my medical goes through and my pr is processed and accepted again, does anyone know if landing is still a thing? my original plan was to do a landing and move after 2 years. is this still possible or does canada basically want you to move in a year or so after pr is granted?
