I’m curious if anyone sees value in forming a family office for net worth of around $10 million understanding these are typically targeted to ultra high net worth families. And if so any recommended reading or resources?

I think you’re about 10% of the net worth that would make sense for.

Haven't looked into it specifically but hard to imagine that the cost is worth it at that level. I'd consider it more if I thought my wealth would grow substantially in the next several years and I wanted to get my ducks in order

If you’re retired and can spend the time on it yourself, I think that vastly limits the operating cost (no employees). Am mostly curious about the tax and asset protection advantages.

I thing MD3 is right. Maybe a multi-family office? Just curious what folks with 20-30m NW are doing?

Multi family is probably better am also interested in hearing from anyone with experience there

I’m not sure I understand what that means. Can you say a bit more?

What do you want out of this? Just tax planning? tax planner can help there? Wealth manager can help with investments

Im in that bucket and just use a wealth manager for access to alternatives but diy my own portfolio. Tax planning and trust planning is on mind but not doing that just yet- my wealth manager can help there too. No point in paying 100k fees each year

For those that indicated DIY, how comfortable are you with portfolio management after you? Not to be morbid but asking a practical question. Would your spouse and/or dependents be equally comfortable with the DIY approach?

Trying to educate spouse. She has about 1/4 of the investible assets to manage. She tends to be very conservative though.

Hi, does anyone know the salary of a manager in IT Audit (or regular audit) in the big 4 in Singapore? Also, do you know what the working hours are like in normal and busy season. Thanks in advance

Debevoise Hong Kong is hiring a tax associate (2nd to 5th years, but there may be flexibility in class year), ideally with experience in funds tax. Comp is the latest DPW/Cravath scale plus a COLA each year and moving costs. I'm currently there, and I'm happy to chat if anyone is interested.

Job transition question: I recently accepted an offer for a new role with Merrill Lynch, the following day I was fired from my previous employer. I haven’t filled out the updated work history background check info yet. The reason for termination was due to performance expectations not being met. Should I reach out to my new employer and let them know that I’ve been terminated? Should I just put the termination update on the background check form and leave it at that? Wondering what I should do.

I don’t know about you, but this year, I want to get better at having a work/life balance. I love having the time in the summer to do things around the house, but struggle when the school year starts. If you have any tips, suggestions, or systems that have worked for you when it comes to planning, etc. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Browns or Jets defense? I can’t decide 🤔

We decided to do a photo session before the wedding for the two of us and family. The photographer and the location were amazing but the makeup was terrible, and because I was low on time, I couldn't fix it before the photos. The makeup artist make me look yellow! Idk if there's anything that could be done at this point, but feeling so disappointed :(

Hi Fishes

I need help to decide
I have got 2 offers
1. Tigerhall - 45LPA
2. Zupee - 42LPA
Which one I should choose?
In Tigerhall, I will get a lot of free time as the work is same as what I have done so far in my career therefore, I can focus on more things now.
In Zupee, I will get to learn new skill which might be good for my career.
Also, comparatively in hand salary of Tigerhall is higher than Zupee (it will less tax deduction as it's a Singapore based company)
Please suggest

Align to non-M&A offering but do a lot of work in the space (DD, integrations). B4 recruiter reached out and wants me to provide resume@for review with hiring partner. Does it work if I provide a bio with summary of M&A projects (client names removed) instead of a traditional resume? Also plan to list education and previous roles.

CFP study programs:

I'm a little confused on Danko - does he offer a self-study option for the coursework requirement? On his website it looks like each module has a 4-day virtual class which I wouldn't be able to attend due to working full time. Does this program also include self-study material, and the classes are just supplementary/optional? I was also looking at Dalton for self-study and Danko for test prep. Thoughts?

TIA
