I received an email from the HR at Monitor Deloitte that I've cleared the case round and a back to back discussion with partner and director of the team will be scheduled. Been almost 3 days since this email, haven't received asking for availability from the scheduling team. This for a role with their Lifesciences Strategy practice in the UK. How long do they typically take to schedule the final round of discussions? Do they eliminate candidates in this round?

Pay is marginally better and culture is much better - so still net positive but yeah the MBB marketing is definitely over hyped. Shows why Bain is lagging B4 in terms of consulting size, and large scale (government / financial services) projects etc. But c’est la vie, I guess.

You may be the first to say Bain is lagging big 4 lol. Pay vs. Big 4 strategy may be close at entry levels but diverges meaningfully beyond that.
And Bain is significantly larger than any of the big 4 strategy arms, so I’m confused as to how they’re trailing in scale.

I mean, judging a firms capabilities off of white papers (which are marketing fodder) is certainly a novel and unique perspective to take…
Also, not being the number one / two firm in ops implies they suck at literally everything except PE? Also some unique logic.
But yes, Bain has its faults and limitations, as does every firm.

How do you know Bain is lagging behind BCG and McK? Could easily be a case of grass always being greener on the other side.
We have smaller graphics teams, McK1. We have them, we just don’t use them as excessively. We also typically have larger client facing case teams and a more bottom heavy pyramid than you. Big driver of our culture.
